Here at GigMasters we come across some very talented event planners and sometimes we are lucky enough to get to hear the story of their careers. Recently, we chatted with Shayne Voorheis, who is a very accomplished event planner who has been a loyal client of GigMasters, booking entertainment through our service over 20 times. Shayne is the president of Shayne & Company Creative Marketing, a marketing consulting firm that provides creative strategies and marketing services to clients within the retail and consumer based industries. Shayne was kind enough to drop by and let us know a little more about her background and why she loves special event planning. GM: How did you get started as a professional event planner?
SV: I received my degree in Communications-Radio/TV/Film and originally set out to be a news reporter. I became a Marketing Director of shopping centers and after 15 years of marketing shopping centers from Denver to Los Angeles I decided to open my own company- Shayne & Company Creative Marketing. I love what I do and have been lucky enough to raise 3 fantastic children while doing it!
GM: What event planning services do you offer?
SV: Special Event Planning of any magnitude – large or small corporate events, trade shows, grand openings, retail events, seasonal events, advertising, public relations and marketing. I love working on all events! I specialize in retailer events but love to plan personal events, parties and would love to plan themed parties. I most frequently plan seasonal special events, grand opening events, sales driving events and corporate events.
GM: What sets you apart from other event planners?
SV: Personal and professional involvement, attention to every detail to make it a memorable event, customer service. Always add my special touch to set make the event stand out. My favorite part about being a professional event planner is the execution from beginning plans to event date. It’s gratifying to host a very successful event. I also enjoy working with different people from a variety of cities and states.
GM: Why do you use GigMasters for finding entertainment?
SV: Entertainment is key to any event. It creates the mood, the ambiance, excitement and offers customers a fun activity to enjoy, while driving traffic to increase sales and awareness. I would recommend GigMasters to all event planners. They are very resourceful and helpful in finding entertainment in all areas. I feel they have a very organized method of coordinating the requests.
