We have told you how to plan a St. Patrick’s Day party for the adults, but this super fun holiday could also make for a great kids and family celebration! We’ve got some tips and ideas for hosting an amazing St. Patrick’s Day party that would be fun for the whole family.
Let’s start with decorations. Obviously you are going to want to have lots of green. From there you can select what other accent colors would work best with your party – white, orange and gold are popular choices for a St. Patrick’s Day party. Green, white and gold works really well together. For a great visual, take a look at these adorable Luck o’ the Irish party printables from Wants and Wishes Design. They are amazing and the green, white and gold color scheme looks so great together.
When it comes to food, Wants and Wishes Design has some great St. Patrick’s Day treat ideas. Their dessert table display included peanut butter toffee, caramel Rice Krispie treats, chocolate gold coins and some fabulous cupcakes.
To wash down all of that deliciousness, they served Jones Green Apple drinks with cute straw tags that say “Take 3 sips and make a wish.” All of those yummy snacks sound great for a family St. Patrick’s Day affair.
When it comes to party favors, Wants and Wishes came up with a few very cute ideas. You can give all of your guests ‘tiny pots of gold (little cups filled with gold wrapped chocolates). Or, you could fill clear plastic bags with lucky charms cereal and attach custom tags that say “Thanks for being my good luck charm.” I love these great, inexpensive favor ideas.
To help the kiddies dress up during the party, you could offer them these cute shamrock bracelets or these fun buttons with great St. Patrick’s Day sayings like “World’s cutest leprechaun” and “Irish for the day.”
If you are looking for activities for the kids, pick up a few craft supplies and have them create their own leprechaun wall hanging or groovy shamrock. An adult will have to supervise – but the kids will love it! Kaboose.com has lots of other great St. Patrick’s Day crafts ideas – perfect for keeping the kids entertained.
The next piece of the party puzzle is entertainment. There are lots of options to choose from when it comes to St. Patrick’s Day entertainment. You can hire a bagpiper, Celtic band, or Irish dancer – whatever works best for your event. Hiring entertainment is a great way to get the kids and family in the spirit of the holiday. Nothing is better than Irish music on St. Patrick’s Day!
