Labor Day Party

When the summer is coming to an end, there’s only one thing left to do…plan an awesome Labor Day party. Over the years, Labor Day has become the perfect time to have one last hoorah for the summer. Whether you are planning on hitting the beach, the lake or celebrating at home, getting together with your friends and family is a must! We’ve put together a few ideas to help make your planning as stress-free as possible.

Early Invites

Labor Day is the perfect time to squeeze in one last barbecue with all of your favorite people. Remember, this is a very popular weekend for celebrating, so if you want to host your own party, be sure to send out save the dates/invites as soon as you can. Sending your invites 4-6 weeks in advance will allow your guests to mark their calendars for your party and avoid accepting other invitations for Labor Day. Evite has some adorable electronic Labor Day invites that are free and will easily allow you to manage your guest list.

Think Themes

You can easily go with a patriotic theme for a Labor Day party. Chances are you may still have some fabulous red, white and blue décor left over from a Memorial Day or Fourth of July party. Re-using decorations will help you save money, which is always nice.

However, if you want to try something a little different, perhaps a Labor Day White Party would be a fun idea. You know the old rule – you can’t wear white after Labor Day? Well, if you haven’t heard of that, it’s kind of a thing. So, why not ask your guests to wear white (as much or as little as they would like), that’s the start to a great White Party. To keep the theme going, purchase all white decorations (balloons, plates, flowers, etc.). It’s a pretty simple theme that could easily be pulled off without breaking the bank.

Scrumptious Snacks

You may just want to cook up some good ole fashioned hot dogs and hamburgers for your Labor Day party. After all, those are the barbecue standards. But, if you are looking to take things up a notch – we found some mouth-watering recipes that guests are sure to enjoy. For starters, these Caprese Tomato Bites and Cheeseburger Bites look absolutely amazing! Mix things up with the main course and add dishes like these Barbecue Beef Kabobs or Baja Chicken and Slaw Sliders. Engaging Entertainment

So you created an invite, picked your theme and planned your menu – what’s left? Choosing your entertainment of course! No party is complete without fabulous entertainment! If kids will be attending your holiday affair, renting a bounce house would be perfect for your party. Kids love them, and it will give them a fun activity to enjoy while the adults get some time to mix and mingle.

Hiring a rock duo or a country band would be a nice treat for all of the guests. Good music goes a long way at any event. Adding quality entertainment is a great way to ensure that your end of summer Labor Day bash is a huge success!
