Every year the Friends of the New Lenox Public Library host a literary themed Spring Arts Festival. With this year marking the 100th Anniversary of Victor Hugo’s Les Miserables, they embraced a Parisian theme for this fundraising event, featuring French style entertainment.
When Crestview Preparatory School in California realized that their fundraiser was scheduled for April 14th, 2012 Spring Benefit Chairs Carlos and Helen Brooks decided to theme their event around this historic date – the 100 year anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic. Inspired by the story of the Titanic they recreated the momentous evening at their benefit gala “A Night to Remember.”
We know that musicians sometimes have to travel for a gig but it’s not often that the gig actually takes place on the road. So when we heard about the Verde Canyon’s Railroad “Rhythm on the Rails” event we wanted to learn more.
Londoloza Dog Den & Cattery may be named after a game reserve in South Africa’s Sabi Sands, but this 16,000 sq ft space caters to a much tamer clientele. Dogs and cats are the focus of this new business located in Culver City, CA. The facility itself is also African safari themed and truly unique. When planning their grand opening they decided they needed a band to help bring an authentic African flair to the party. We checked in with owner Patricia Were to learn more about this wild event.

So, when we noticed that a Georgia based technology company, Unitiv, was hosting a roaring 20s themed “Bootlegger’s Ball,” we knew this was a real event we wanted to hear all about.
