The Stepping Stones Museum for Children is centrally located in Norwalk, CT adjacent to the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion. The Museum prides itself on being an interactive and engaging educational facility for children ages 10 and under. Playing is not welcomed at The Stepping Stones Museum, but rather encouraged by the dedicated employees, more commonly known by frequent visitors as “Play Explorers.” The museum is full of captivating exhibits and over 100 hands-on-activities aimed to ignite curiosity in the minds of children.
The Stepping Stones Museum for Children recently underwent a 22,000 sq. foot expansion in 2010 to incorporate aspects of our ever changing world into their facility. The expansion is LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold certified and the Museum is now equipped with solar panels and a wind turbine. The brand new 1,500 sq. foot energy lab features exhibits that intend to teach children about energy alternatives of the future.
This fun and beautiful museum also offers many packages and options for hosting private functions. Stepping Stones offers 52,000 square feet of prime event space that is perfect for functions as small as a child’s birthday party or as large as a community event. Their open air tent is perfect for seated dinner for up to 400 guests. The brand new Multimedia Gallery is home to a 35’ X 12” screen and interactive floor projection technology that would be ideal for corporate gatherings or educational seminars!
Recently, we got to see just how wonderful special events can be at Stepping Stones. GigMasters sponsored BooZoo’s Canine Carnival which was a wonderful community event that included parents, children and canines. You can take a look at just how fabulous an event can be at Stepping Stones by stopping by our BooZoo’s Canine Carnival post.
When it comes to kids parties, their website says it all: “With amazing new sights, sounds and silliness, the new Stepping Stones Museum for Children is where birthday parties become birthday celebrations.” Let the Stepping Stones’ “Play Explorers” assist you with your child’s next birthday bash.
